The Other Side of the Camera...

Taking pictures is so much fun as long as I'm not on the other side of the camera. Two babies, a dysfunctional relationship with the gym, and a few dozen hang ups don't make it easy for me to get in front of a camera these days. I am more than happy to be behind one. Of course, my Mom was much the same way and now that she's gone we don't have very many pictures of her....my Dad reminds me of this a lot. *sigh*

Anyway , I wanted to try and get a new headshot for my blog and business and these were some of the results. The first two, I did try to edit a bit but I'm not sure how "correct" they are.

This was one of the first I took. I was feeling pretty silly standing there taking pics of myself in the bathroom. What?! I needed the extra light!

By the time this one was taken, I think the Hubs had me laughing at something.....

You just had to know that there were outtakes, right? Here's just one of them. Lovely.

Which one do you like? Should I keep trying? Suggestions?

I wish I had some photo advice! Would the hubs or a friend be able to take some photos of you? Maybe you could peek around some of the blogs... my3boybarians always has some good portrait photos on Tuesdays maybe you could get some ideas?? Wish I could help. But you are so right about having photos for the future:) So sorry to read about your mom.

I know what you mean... I am always the one behind the camera... and I like it that way! ;) You are so cute! I like the second photo. You have such a pretty smile!!

The second one is my fave but they are all cute.. that outtake is really funny AND cute! Maybe you should use that one?? ;-)

I hear ya-- I'm the one holding the camera. But I do have sisters who are also photo-happy and they insist on snapping thier own shots.

Start getting in more pictures! You are beautiful, and your kids will need plenty of pictures to prove that you were actually THERE during the birthdays, vacations, and daily life. :-D

PS I cheated with my pic, and made it all black and white and mixed-media-ish. Heh heh heh

I like that second one the best. It's you! But I also like the third one. You're so pretty! You did a great job taking and editing them!

I soooo understand! Very few piX of me ~ I'm more comfortable behind the lens. Your father's poignant reminder tugs at my heartstrings.

All three of these shots are keepers. The first is soft and portrait-like and the last is playful, but the second shot is my pick ~ your coy smile is relaXed and engaging.
