Ranting from my soapbox...with love!

Scraaaaaape...shuffle, shuffle, shufle....THUNK!

Alright people. I've officially dragged my soapbox out and am now ready to speak.

I'm very new to the world of blogging and was a teensy bit aprehensive about my writing not being good enough compared to others that I had read. My love of being creative drowned out any inner protestations, however, and it's become one of my greatest outlets. I look forward to catching up on the latest posts from my fave blogs by some very talented, funny and gracious ladies. I have noticed that I keep coming across the same line of thinking in the posts I've been reading lately...and, to be honest, have thought and expressed the same thinking on more than one occasion myself. We all look at other people's posts/lives, compare ourselves and find ourselves wanting. I admit to reading other entries and wishing I could write something as funny/inspiring as another person or have felt like my life is so small compared to another's busy and adventure-filled life. Have you found yourself doing the same?

How utterly silly we are being!! I love delving into your different worlds through your writing and pictures. Yes, it's a great thing to feel a sense of connection with another blogger who shares your sense of humor or is at a similar place in their life. To me, the best thing is to learn. To see the same things through a different pair of eyes, so to speak. So let's all just relax, write and enjoy ourselves shall we!

Okay, I'm done now.

Ah, bravo, bravo...

Yes, that is JUST what I commented on another blog tonight: it is the variety and opportunity to know people whom we otherwise would not be able to know that intrigues and interests me. It's the encouragement from others that I'm addicted to. It's the gift of GIVING encouragement that lifts my spirits, too.

You're right, it's easy to compare. It's easy to present the pretty side without the dark underbelly. ;) It's easy to mix reality with fantasy. We have to be careful and well grounded.

It's important to remember that, and I truly appreciate the reminder here! I think I may pass it along...

Excellent points! I surfed on over here from Celtic Knot -- I love finding "Anna" blogs. I also find it so interesting how we think our lives are boring but everyone else's isn't. I love hearing the little details about how others are living all over blogland.

Anna, I couldn't have said it better if I tried. I love to read blogs and sometimes get discouraged because it seems some women accomplish so much and I tend to work at a much slower pace. But I maintain a reality check, my life although small and quiet and not very exciting is also filled with so many wonderful joys, I know how truely blessed I am!!!

Hello, glad to have stumbled upon your blog. I think it's healthy to have the occasional soapbox moment - keep it up!

Oh. *sigh* OK. I'll be happy with what I have. I'll try. Really I will! :-) I agree with the fun of meeting new people and reading about other lives, especially when I can see so much of myself in those posts. Keep posting. I'm really enjoying it.

You shouldn't feel nervous about writing blog entries. You write wonderfully really.

Oh, also I've tagged you with a meme. Sending it via e-mail.
