Hey, y'all! I've been tagged by Kimberly from A Hokey Pokey Life and my cousin (sorry for being such a slacker, Cuz!) with a meme. I'm ashamed to admit that it took me a bit to figure out what a meme was and what it meant to be tagged. Yep, I am such a blogging newbie!
Anyhoo - Let's get this party started......
1) Link back to the person who tagged you.
2) Post these rules on your blog.
3) Share six unimportant/quirky things about yourself.
4)Tag six random people at the end of your entry.
Hmmmm.....Let's see.
1. I loooove watching Are You Being Served and other British shows. So much so, in fact, that Mom has started calling me an Anglophile! My english accent is atrocious, however. It just comes out all wrong with a southern twang....
2. You can read my face like a book. This, of course is annoying in the extreme for me as it means a career in the CIA is out.....*sigh* (As, if!!) It also means that my Hubby gets the biggest kick out of saying the most shocking things to me just to see how red I turn. That's okay, I get him back eventually. -Insert evil chuckle here.-
3. I am rather good at organizing things out in my head and/or on paper but am abyssmal at carrying those plans out in real life. It's yet another flaw that I've had to accept about myself and improve on. If I just try to do things while I'm thinking about them and not put them off, I manage things a little better. Most of the time.....
4. I think I may have the only Hubby in the world who forbids me from buying any more cheaply made shoes. I am banned for life from Pay Less. I would buy the shoes because they were cheap, but then complain that wearing them made my feet and back hurt. Even though I have to save up for some of my kicks these days, my back and feet don't bother me as much and I've discovered that, yes, there are cute AND comfy shoes to be found. My Hubby is AWESOME and totally understanding of my shoe obsession. Well, right up to the moment he looks in our closet!
5. I love to make people laugh. Sometimes I blatantly use this as a defense mechanism or as a way to diffuse tense situations but most of the time it's just a way to relate and have a good time.
6. When I have the time or am graced with a stroke of inspiration, I like to work on a story I've been writing. It's a Christian Romance. I'd like to start posting snippets of it on here, but am unsure of doing so without a copyright of some sort. If any of my bloggy friends have info on that, I'd be tickled pink if y'all would share it with me!
So here's the part where I'm supposed to tag six peeps with this meme. Um, I'm going to have to be a rebel and opt not to do that. I know most people are either too busy or have already been tagged with something like this. So twenty lashes with a wet noodle for me!
Peace, Y'all!

My Twin!! I thought I was the only person that said thiry lashes with a wet noodle. I see your much more forgiving than I am. I hear ya on number 5!
Oh my goodness! So many interesting things I learned, and many things in common! First, the organizing on paper followed by no action...lets just say, I'm with ya! It makes for really good advice; however. I love telling other people how to organize and then letting them do the work! As for the shoes, today, I threw out my favorite black sandals that I paid $9.99 two years ago. I went to Rack Room to find a replacement pair and found nothing I liked. I then went to a fancy schmancy shoe store and bought a pair of Ugg sandals for $80! They are so the bomb, and I plan to wear them for at least the next ten years! I can't believe you are working on a story! Will it be a novel length or something shorter. I'd love to read it, but I agree, you have to be careful. I know that some bloggers posts are available to invited guests only, but I'm guessing that would mean your entire blog, not just certain posts. Keep writing! I love your honesty with yourself and know that we would be great friends in the "real world!" I'd keep you out of payless for sure! Thanks for having fun with me!
I love Britcoms too! Have you ever seen As Days Go By? LIke it, don't know why....
Also, right with you on the one about putting things down on paper but never getting to it...*sigh*
And don't worry about taking awhile on the meme. Sometimes I don't get to mine either. THere is one kim tagged me for and I haven't don't it yet either
Joanna- Ha! Look out world here we come - Thelma and Louise!!
Kimberly- You may be on to something with the telling other people how to organize and then letting them do the work!
Yes, I am working on writing a short story. It may turn into something more.... I haven't had a chance to work on it for a while, but the other day I had another stroke of inspiration. I've never tackled anything like this before so the logistics of writing a longer piece are giving me fits. It's such a great feeling when I get a scene down on paper!
Lisa- I love Masterpiece Theater, Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Rosemary and Thyme and several other Britcoms. I catch As Time Goes By when I can...love Judy Dench. Mom likes Keeping Up Appearances and Waiting for God.
I never realized you liked Are You Being Served? and that your mother loves Keeping Up Appearances and Waiting For God. I love all three, most British sitcoms, in fact, which in my mind are so much better than American sitcoms.
BTW, my main new blog can be found @ unfinishedperson.wordpress.com, where you can find links to my other blogs, to make it easier on y'all. My Just A Running Fool one is done now.
And sorry, it's taken me so long to get back to you on this comment. I'm a little slow on catching up sometimes. Sorry. Hope you and the Bubs are doing well. :)
Oh, and the story, there are ways you can post and get comments and not worry about copyrights. I can help you figure that out, even if it's setting up another blog with password just for friends. I'm sure there's a way it can be done and you can receive feedback...who knows you might even find a reading/writing group out there that might could help you with it, marketing, etc.
